The story which is set in the slums of Karachi and Lahore in early 1950s, revolves around a poor but respectable family who is facing a lot of hardships for their survival. Corruption and degradation take over their lives. Jobless and without any real hope of a better life, they find themselves in the clutches of unprincipled enterpreneurs who exploit each of them totally. The tragic, but deeply moving finale is inevitable.
The drama is based on a novel written by Shaukat Siddiqui - Khuda Ki Basti - which has been translated into 26 languages. Shaukat Siddiqui describes the events and characters with minute details. An excellent work has been done on the writer's part alongwith the best performances by the actors with superb directions given to them.
This drama serial is indeed a must match! A classic for the whole family to enjoy.
